Yunk Glass is Josh Yunker, a Texas artist who learned on a spoon-pipe production line and practiced for two years in his mother's garage before going full time. His style is what he calls a distilled mix of sculpted and Venetian glass: crisp black-and-clear contrast, sandblasted clear-carve work with sharp hashmark cuts that collectors have called tattoos on glass, and his Yunktionals, functional pieces with cartoonish limbs or full tiny humanoid figures. He co-founded Dallas hot shop Grey Area Studio in 2016 and has collabed with SALT and Relic Glass.
Yunk work tends to sell out quickly when it drops. Right now Smoke ATX has two dab rigs, the Nurturing Nature rig and a color-accent horned bubbler rig, plus a 14mm tube set with a matching pendant and marble.
