Windstar Glass is Shayla Berhman, a Pueblo, Colorado artist who started lampworking in 2014 making production spoons in her mother's head shop studio. Glass artist Brock Sibley introduced her to stringer tech, drawing on glass with glass, and she built it into what she calls "stained glass tech": dark stringer lines filled with transparent color. That style has put her in the top six at the Champs Glass Games four times, earned People's Choice and Artist's Choice awards, and a 2nd-place finish at the 2021 Pipe Classic.
The Windstar collection at Smoke ATX has something for both flower and dabs: numbered peach hand pipes for flower, cartoon character rigs (a SpongeBob rig and a Simpsons rig), and Cactus Sun and Cherry Blossom Puffco tops for the Peak and Peak Pro. A monarch butterfly pendant rounds it out.
Order Windstar online or check out the stringer work in person at Smoke ATX in Austin, on South Lamar, Slaughter Lane or Burnet Road.
