Renee Patula has been working glass since 2004, and after years of making pipes she found her lane in sweets. Around 2013, inspired by the playful look of emojis, she started making candy and dessert pendants, the work she now sells as Sweet Shop Glass. People have a nostalgic connection to the treats she recreates, and that's the whole point. Originally from Southern California, she now works out of Eugene, Oregon.
The Renee Patula collection is a full bakery case of heady pendants: candy corn and mega candy corn, a candy apple, pumpkin pie, ghost ice cream, a Slyme Shake, cupcakes, double-scoop cones, a gummy bear, animal cookies with UV dots and iced Pop-Tarts. There are Halloween pieces like ghosts, a black cat and a blood drip too.
Shop Sweet Shop Glass pendants online, or come pick one out at Smoke ATX in Austin on South Lamar, Slaughter Lane or Burnet Road.
